Ever wanted to know what the future looks like? Then you’d better listen when a company like Nokia presents it’s vision of the future.

Pretty interesting stuff, although I must say that most technologies in the movie, like social networks, RSS, augmented reality and the likes already exist today and will just become smarter, get improved. The true innovation is in the intergration of all these platforms into one system.

One thing that is not in this video is the Morph concept. It was presented over a year ago but I felt I couldn’t keep from you. This concept based on nanotechnology is truly pushing boundaries. I could give you a full description of this device, but the movie below explains it all:

Rumor has it that this device could also go into production sometime around 2015. Pretty amazing, don’t you think? Now go create the future!

Technology can be frustrating, very frustrating. Ever felt like tossing your handheld after dying for the 15th time in a videogame, or after arguing on the phone with your girlfriend?? French magazine Amusement sure did, and decided to let their frustration run wild and capture it in pictures, resulting in a nice shoot.

This one is for all the Metal Gear Solid fans out there. Metal Gear Solid -Philanthropy is a movie based on the well known video game franchise. The cool thing about this movie is that it is not a Hollywood-style production; It is a movie made out of the passion of some fans, non profit and for no budget.

I was happily surprised by the result. Impressive if you ask me for a no-budget flick. At least it is setting the standard for the rumored ‘official’ movie.

Jake Gyllenhaal turns action hero in Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time, based on the video game of the same name. Pretty cool that on of the first videogames I have ever played is still alive and kicking.

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Prince Dastan alongside of Gemma Arterton as Tamina, Alfred Molina, Ben Kingsley, and Toby Kebbell.

Hitting theaters from may 28th, 2010.  Judging on the looks of the trailer Disney is taking things pretty seriously. Will this be the follow-up franchise for Pirates of the Caribbean? See for yourselves below:

Today, the 9th of November it is 20 years ago that the Berlin Wall fell, marking the end of the cold war and communism. At that time I was just 7 years old so I couldn’t grasp what was happening then But sometimes you just knew it was important, moreover because my parents let me stay up and watch the late night news with them. Ever since, these images of celebration have always stuck in my mind.

Twenty years on, the larger part of the wall has been removed. However, Berlin still bares the scars of decades of separation between east and west. Photojournalist Kelly Gorham has studied the wall, and other DDR buildings looking at the structures as modern architectural ruins.This has resulted in the amazing exhibition The Stones Have Memories.

“My guiding creative principal was to let the architecture speak for itself,” Gorham says. “Is it possible to document emotion without photographing a human face?” Looking at the results I think it is. Beautiful and striking, truly capturing the history of the city. Amazing.

On Secret Forts I found this article on Inujirushi, which means Dog Brand in Japanese. Inujirushi is a Japanese manufacturer of some great leather trimmed canvas bags, which they have been doing for 50 years now (They also make the well know Japanese Hello Kitty stuff, but I think every Japanese company is obliged by law to make this stuff, so forget about his for now!).

Instead of spending their money on marketing or advertising, Inujirushi rather thrives on customer loyalty and improving their products. Over the course of 50 years they have created a large group of brand loyalists, making it , one of the first companies in the world to adapt the marketing model of the future. Have a look at this project! By using the silk of millions of golden orb spiders found in Madagascar a few entrepreneurial men have created an 11 foot long tapestry! What a job…

The project which was led by British textile expert Simon Peers and American fashion designer Nicholas Godley took four years to complete, involved 70 dedicated collectors who retrieved the female spiders from telephone wires around the Madagascar capital Antananarivo during the rainy season.

Each thread consists of  96 to 960 individual spider silk filaments and then where woven together on a loom, a intensely laborious process one can say. The result though is a “stronger than steel” fabric.

The tapestry is currently on display at the American Museum of Natural History. Just one word: Wow…

This is a really nice case which proves crowdsourcing can be applied succesfully in any business. Even in advertising . Belgian telecom provider Proximus has used the crowds to create this commercial. Check out the movie below:
