Palm Springs Pools by D.J. Hall
D.J. Hall is a Los Angeles born painter, who makes (very) realistic work. What makes her work stand out is that she approaches each new painting as though she is producing a film: selecting models, wardrobe changes, locations, props, time sequences, etc. And it shows. Because of this thorough approach, over the 35 years she [...]

Seek & Speak
Check out this work by Seek & Speak, aka Ben Scheafer. It is a project of uber-simplified movie posters in black, white and grey which capture only the basic components of these movies. Reminds me of the I Can Read Movies book covers I posted about earlier. Also be sure to check out his other [...]

Aqualta By Studio Lindfors
Check out this project by Studio Lindfors called Aqualta. As you might know I love images like this. It imagines how New York and Tokyo look when they are almost entirely covered by water, giving you a peak at a time that could possibly happen if global warming continues and the ice caps continue melting. [...]

A Peek In Tim Burton’s Mind
Regular readers of this blog probably know that I am a big fan of Tim Burton’s work. Thats why I was exited when I read on Wired that his art-work is now bundled in a 434 page thick book, displaying over 1000 drawings, doodles, paintings and evocative concept art dating back to Burton’s teen years [...]

I found this cover through Kitsune Noir, and just like Bobby, I was struck by its brilliance. Modern parenting in one page… The cover was made by artist Chris Ware, accompanied by a four page story which is also worth reading. Check it out here.

WeFeelFine & Twistori
After posting about TrendsMap earlier, I have bumped into two similar Twitter-based websites. The difference is these two don’t really track trends, they track emotions and feelings. The first is WeFeelFine. WeFeelFine tracks feelings posted by people on Twitter. After opening the website, it litterally explodes onto the screen in about 1500 pieces, all representing [...]
